Chaplaincy Volunteer Hospital Visitors Needed

The Chaplaincy Team offer at the University Hospital of Wales offer Religious, Spiritual and Pastoral Care to Patients in hospitals throughout Cardiff and the Vale. We are a team made up of seven Christian Ministers from all denominations.

In order to be able to visit as many people as possible the Chaplaincy Team is ably assisted by a team of volunteer Chaplaincy Visitors who come from many different churches in Cardiff and the Vale. However, there is always more we could do and we are very keen to increase the team by recruiting and training more suitably called and gifted people to join us. Volunteer Chaplains usually give a few hours a week (often a morning or afternoon) to visit a ward and chat to the patients. No particular experience is needed, just a warm, friendly personality and willingness to pray for patients if asked.

We are looking for people to visit all the Cardiff and Vale hospitals, and also Velindre Cancer Centre in Whitchurch.

For more information or an informal chat, please contact Rev’d Jason Tugwell (Lead Chaplain) on 02920 743230 or
